Student Community: Building relationships in a busy life
These are days set aside in the LV academic and events calendars to spend together. An outing is planned by the Parent Events Council that would appeal to all ages.
These wonderfully silly themed school days are a great way to make memories and have fun together. Click above to check out our themes for this year.

How do we foster community? The Learning Vine is a community of homeschoolers from all over the western suburbs of Chicago, and in some cases our students come from other parts of the Chicago suburbs as well. All of that distance means that we have to be intentional about our time together. We hope that our families will connect on their own through outings, meet-ups, and play-dates, but we know that is not always the case. With that in mind we have created several opportunities to "plug-in" and get to know each other.
Please review the links on this page to see what that looks like at LV right now. |
During the past year we have had a night out at the Ringling Bros. Circus, had a fun "paint night" together, and our teens even went to a few dances. Every year will be different, but each year we will plan unique outings and events that we can all enjoy.

All current LV faculty, students, and the parents of current students are invited to join a private FB group. This is a great place to invite other to join you on an impromptu visit to the park or zoo. It's also a great place to ask for homeschooling advice and share things that have worked for you!
