STEM Robot Building labTeacher: Colleen Williams
STEM LAB is taking our exploration of engineering, technology, and mathematics to the next level! Join us spring semester as we work with real motors, gears, sensors, and circuits to build some pretty amazing robot helpers. Students will work individually and in small groups to build a new robot helper each week. Some robots will remain in class, but others will belong to the student and can be brought home.

It's a bug's life

AGES: 6-8 PERIOD 2 (10-10:55 AM) This class will be a creative introduction to entomology. Each week we will learn about a different fascinating insect, including its life cycle, habitat, diet, and other buggy facts. Every class will include a fun art project, science experiment, or game! |
Scratch Coding 2Teacher: Deidre Anderson
Ready to move on past the basics of Scratch Coding? Discover new ideas and skills while creating fun games! Students need to have either taken Beginners Scratch Coding or know all of the basic coding blocks. Students are required to bring their own laptops from home. Prerequisites: Scratch Coding for Beginners or knowledge of all of the basic blocks in Scratch.

AGES: 8-12 PERIOD 1 (9-9:55 AM) Curious about coding? Learn the basics of Scratch while building simple arcade games! Students need to be able to read, write, and understand basic math to be successful and are required to bring their own laptops from home. *Students will need to bring a laptop with Windows 10 or later or macOS 10.13 or later and approximately 400 MB of free hard drive space |
Young Scientists' club
Teacher: Rachel Wells
Young scientists will be introduced to a variety of engaging and age-appropriate scientific topics, including animal habitats, seasons, weather, body systems, chemistry, and more! Each week will have its own topic of exploration and will include discussions, demonstrations, and experiments.
