Elementary Science Teacher (grade 3/4 & 5/6)
The Learning Vine offers various science classes for grade K-12 homeschool students.  We are currently seeking one or two teachers for the elementary science.  These classes are offered on Monday afternoons from 12:30pm until 1:40pm for fifth & sixth grade and 1:45pm until 2:55 pm for third & fourth grade  throughout the 2018-2019 school year. 

Elementary Science Teacher description

  • Provide instruction in general science utilizing our curriculum
  • Fifth & Sixth Grade Class meets Mondays 12:30 pm – 1:40pm
  • Third & Fourth Grade Class meets Mondays 1:45 pm - 2:55 pm
  • Teachers are required to arrive 30 minutes before class to set up and prepare classroom and to remain after class as needed to clean up. ​​
  • Create and execute syllabus and weekly lesson plans.  
  • Responsible for grading student work and maintain accurate records in our online grade-book.  
  • Communicate regularly with parents and administration via online messaging system.  
  • Manage a classroom of at least 10 and no more than 18 students  
  • Set the standard for classroom behavior and expectations for Christian conduct for the school year.
  • Provide varied lesson plans that include lecture, small group activities, labs, games, application, presentations and other engaging activities
  • Prepare and provide a weekly pacing guide and homework packet for students and parent to work through Tuesday-Thursdays.  
  • Willing and able to work with a team of co-workers; setting a model example of a professional Christian educator.

Teacher Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Knowledgeable in area of interest.  
  • Some prior teaching experience preferred demonstrating the ability to work well with a group of children in a structured setting.   (ie public/private school, homeschool coop, church, coaching, etc)  ​
  • Be in agreement with the mission, vision and statement of faith of The Learning Vine
  • A willingness to work closely with Homeschooling parents to educate their children.  
  • Be willing to submit to appropriate background check ​
