Come explore the world of art! Each week we will make connections from literature to arts and crafts. We will build our fine motor skills by cutting, tracing, coloring, and painting. We will also move and wiggle by learning fingerplays and songs that go with our book and art project theme for the day.

Drawing FundamentalsTeacher: Dennis Edwards
I will be teaching drawing from real life using still life subjects of all kinds to help the student to slow down and study the subject that they want to render. The student will learn how to correctly determine proportions through a variety of techniques. We will also learn techniques with a pencil to get realistic renderings of our subjects.

Advanced ComicsTeacher: Dennis Edwards
This class advanced comics class will focus on rendering the human form effectively for comics, part of this will involve working from a live model. We will practice tricks to draw problematic areas like hands, hair, faces, and any other areas the students want to dive into. We will also be practicing inking skills. At the end of the semester, I would like to have each student be able to show an original character using many of the lessons learned.
