Before you register for any classes at The Learning Vine, you will be asked to confirm that you have read the following important policies. Please read them carefully so that you can make an informed choice about using either of our programs. Thanks!
Payment Policy
Forms of Payment: Payments must be made online only using Visa, Master Card, Discover Card, or PayPal by due dates to prevent deletion of registration.. Checks or cash will not be accepted.
Payment Plan: You will be required to pay the registration fee at the time of registration.
ACADEMIC PROGRAM: A payment plan for the tuition can then be chosen that will include paying in full or paying monthly through November 1st.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAM ONLY: An invoice will be sent to you for the tuition balance for the fall and spring semesters. The fall semester tuition is due by August 1st. The spring semester tuition is due by December 1st.
Late Fee: A late fee of $20 per student will be added to invoices with any late payment occurrence. A one week grace period will be allowed after this fee is added. After that, your student's place in the program will be jeopardized.

Refund Policy

- All tuition and fees are non-refundable unless a class has been cancelled or your child is on the waiting list and does not get into a class. If your child does not test into a certain class, and there are no alternatives, you will be refunded all fees pertaining to that class only (not the application or testing fee). After placement, refunds will not be issued for student withdrawals for any reason.
- Families are liable to pay the full year’s tuition once the program begins (whether or not they finish the year for any reason).
- Note: The program officially begins on the day of orientation.

Behavioral Policy
It is the goal of the LV staff to maintain order in our classrooms, study halls, and lunch rooms so that our environment is conducive to learning and upholds Christian standards of behavior. This policy is in effect for all ages and all students regardless of special needs or diagnosis. Behavioral issues which are beyond the LV staffs’ ability to handle will not be tolerated.
The following list of inappropriate actions and attitudes will be handled using the policy below.
Note: This list is not all inclusive. Staff will deem an action or attitude inappropriate if it interferes with learning and/or disturbs the environment of LV.
Upon each offense, students will be issued a written warning and parents will be notified. This warning will be kept on file.
The following additional consequences will happen at each offense:

- Disrespect to the authority of teachers and support staff
- Excessive talking and calling out in class
- Using swear words (anytime, anywhere at LV)
- Going into areas of the church that are off limits (the Café and empty rooms)
- Public displays of affection between opposite genders
- Fighting or arguing with students or teachers
- Bullying, name calling, or denigration of other students
- Skipping classes without parental consent
- Plagiarism
- Cheating on tests
- Stealing from students, teachers, or the church
- Viewing of inappropriate images on electronic devises or through other venues
- Defacing or damaging of school or student property, including drawing on tables
- Possession and/or use of of illegal drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, or weapons on campus
Upon each offense, students will be issued a written warning and parents will be notified. This warning will be kept on file.
The following additional consequences will happen at each offense:
- First Offense and/or Second Offense: Repercussions to alleviate the situation immediately. This may include a verbal warning and/or dismissal from the classroom. Dismissed students will be sent to the hall monitor and/or the student may be removed from the campus if deemed necessary. It will be recorded that the student is on “First Offense” or “Second Offense” warning.
- Third Offense: Suspension for a period of time deemed appropriate for the situation. Student may exchange folders and receive grades during this suspension.
- Fourth Offense: Upon return from any suspension, should another offense occur, the student will be permanently expelled from all classes at LV. No refunds will be issued. Homework exchange and grading will discontinue.
Building Policy
- No LV students or siblings of students are allowed in the CCC Café during LV hours, even if with an adult. Adults, ages 18 and up are allowed to spend time in the Café.
- Parents may leave the building while their children are in class and are enrolled in consecutive classes. Teachers and helpers will assist young students in getting from class to class.
- Children ages 5-12 must be signed in and out at the sign in desk by a parent or guardian and may not remain in the building without a parent if not in a class. A room will be provided for parents with children to wait.
- Teen students (ages 13-18) may sign themselves in and out at the sign in desk. They must leave the premises after sign out.
- No LV students or siblings of students are allowed in the CCC Café during LV hours, even if with an adult. Adults, ages 18 and up are allowed to spend time in the Café.
Teens with off periods:
Students ages 11 and up may use the Quiet Study Hall during off hours. Preference will be given to students who need the study hall between classes. Students must remain quiet in this room. They will be supervised by a study hall monitor. Other options for off periods are volunteering as a teacher or administrative helper, or leaving the premises with a parent.
Service Policy
- All LV teens will be required to assist with set up and break down of tables during the course of the school day, depending on their schedule.
- This will require arriving 15 minutes early and/or leaving 15 minutes after their last class.
- This assistance will help LV to keep costs down and to keep the work load from falling on just a few families.
- Students will not be dismissed until all break down for each hour has been accomplished. Parents should not pick up their student until 15 minutes after the end of their last class of the day.Training will also be given at the orientation to ensure safety and care of the equipment.
Food Policy
- LV is a peanut free school due to students with severe allergies. Please do not send in any foods containing peanuts with your child.
- Lunches can only be ordered from the Café by parents. Students are never allowed to enter the Café to order anything, even if they are with an adult. Online ordering is now available on the home page of the LV website.
- Lunch boxes and bottles that are left behind will be discarded as there is no place to store them.
Academic Program Policies
Vacation Policy
- Parents should notify teachers at least 3 weeks in advance of any vacation. If the teacher is not given at least a 3 week notice, parents should not expect to get work prior to vacation.
- Parents should request school work for any days (weeks) student will be missing from class and provide the last date student will be in class prior to vacation. The teacher will attempt to put the vacation work in the student’s homework folder that day.
- In any case (whether the student received the work ahead of time or upon returning to class) the school work will be given only 1 extra week for completion. School work which is not completed by this deadline will be marked as missing or incomplete and given a zero.
- It is the parents’ full responsibility to have researched all the novels and main curriculum prior to registering their child for any LV classes to fully understand to what they are committing. Students will be expected to participate in class and complete all work assigned.
- Parents taking issue with any novel or main component of the curriculum, once the school year begins, will be fully responsible for their misunderstanding, and students who do not complete work or do not participate in any part of a class should expect to get a zero on their homework assignments/tests not completed in relation to that topic.
- It is the parents’ responsibility to keep all academic records of their student up to date. The Learning Vine will not be liable for keeping any student records beyond the end of the school year (May 31st). This would include grades, class description, placements test results, etc. Therefore, parents should make certain that they print out the syllabus, book list and grades from each class their student attended before the May31st deadline.
- The Learning Vine will not issue transcripts, placement recommendations, or letters of recommendation to any institution. Personal letters of recommendation from a teacher or administrator are allowed, but only at the teacher’s and/or administrator’s discretion.
- Placement tests are used only to help The Learning Vine staff place students into Learning Vine classes. They are in no way intended to determine deficiencies, tutoring needs, or placement into programs or courses outside of The Learning Vine.
- Copies of placement tests cannot be provided to parents or any outside institution. Since the tests are used year after year, the integrity of the tests cannot be compromised. A Learning Vine administrator may provide some information regarding results if a student does not place into a class (at the administrator’s discretion). However, the Learning Vine administrators are not in any way obligated to share these results with a parent, institution, or any person for any reason.
