little artistsTeacher: Cathy Harland
Come explore the world of art! Each week we will make connections from literature to arts and crafts. We will build our fine motor skills by cutting, tracing, coloring, and painting. We will also move and wiggle by learning fingerplays and songs that go with our book and art project theme for the day.

Does your child LOVE arts & crafts? Art Lab is not simply a drawing or painting class! We will paint, glue, decoupage, and craft our way through a new project every week! At least one of our projects will be a self-portrait that is an beautiful keepsake! This class is all of the fun of arts and crafts with none of the mess for parents!

In the latest version of cartooning I'd like the students to dive into a more diverse landscape of images. We will start with how a cartoon represents the human form. we will study the concepts behind caricature and how to cartoonize (my made up word!) ourselves. We will then do the same with animals, bedrooms, houses, cars, etc.
World Building through Drawing
Teacher: Dennis Edwards
AGES 8-18
|
PERIOD 3 (11-11:55 AM)
|
This is a subject that I am very interested in, and in the years I have been at LV, I feel many students will be as well. We all love to play through video games, especially the epic ones like Zelda, Elden Ring, Super Mario Bro's, the list can go on. Where does it all begin? It starts with a handful of people with some ideas about a whole new world, filled with characters you've never seen before. In this class I will show the students how to unlock their creativity, and to translate what they see in their minds to paper, and how to make it look EPIC!
